NARNIA

Two summer ago we read the entire Narnia series as a family. We read it in chronological order, not in the order in which C.S. Lewis wrote them. We were all amazed at how all the stories make much more sense in chronological order. You really get to understand the little parts that all fit together.

So when the first Narnia movie came out we pinched our pennies and took all the kids plus one of my cousins to go and see it on opening night. It of course was a snowstorm but we braved the weather and roads. So did about 200 other people and we were very thankful we had bought our tickets online a few days before!

Tonight is opening night for the next Narnia movie: Prince Caspian! We looked into taking the kids to the drive-in to see it. Amazingly (to me anyway) the drive-in is just as expensive as the theater and more expensive than the cheap theater in Niantic! We did discover though that in June the drive-in has carload night for $18. When I was a kid we would pop huge bags of popcorn, make gallons of lemonade, fill our 15 passenger van full of kids, and go to the movies on carload night. So we might just have to resurrect that tradition!

We found that the cheap theater in Niantic is showing the movie so we will be taking the girls there this evening. They are all excited. We hardly ever go to the movie theater. We have only been twice before as a family: Veggie Tales: Jonah and the first Narnia.

"Aslan is on the move!"
