First Day of School

Yup. You read that right. Today was Rachel and Samantha's first day of school. Public school. Sixth grade in the local middle school. Hannah will have her first day of high school as soon as her immunization paperwork is processed.

I am committed to them finishing the school year at the public school. Tonight Rachel is beginning to realize what she lost as she has been working on her homework since she got home at 3:00. It is now 5:30 and she is still working on it. 

This is definitely not what I thought my life would look like at this point. So many factors in making this decision, not the least of which was the cheating and lying that was occurring daily. This mom needs a time-out. 

We'll re-evaluate things in June. Maybe they'll come home. Maybe they'll stay in school. Life keeps throwing curve balls, so I've given up on deciding on anything any further than two days from now.
