The sore throat that Samantha had has apparently mutated and Hannah now has Strep throat. Hannah wasn't happy since she feels awful and she had to miss the 4H Auction. Nathalie and Abby are generously helping her out by taking care of her chickens for her. Sometimes you start to think, "Hey, I must be doing something right. These kids are pretty awesome."
The 4H Auction was a ton of fun. I was able to purchase one camp week for one of the girls for less than the regular price. I now need to purchase 3 more. I also need to purchase a Clover Camp (Two days one night camp for 6-8 year olds) for Samantha since Mr. Don Beebe told her all about it. I will be filling out camper scholarship forms next week.
The 4H Auction on the first night made $9000! I don't know how much on the second night, but there were several Casino packages that went for over $400! The three baskets our club donated did very well: Summer fun- $26, Chocolate Lovers- $40, and Kids Craft- $42!!
Lots of Great Goats 4H'ers were on hand to help out. My frustration with only 50% club participation at events has been appeased as I spoke with a few other 4H Leaders. They were impressed with our numbers and shared that they are lucky to get 5% participation with only 10-12 kids in their clubs. Again, you start to think, "Hey we must be doing something right. These kids are pretty awesome!"
