It's been a bit of a whirlwind this week. My brother an sister-in-law's baby, Sophie, was born too early and passed away on April 6th. We are all so sad and grieve with them for their loss. My sisters from Kansas (Sarah and Emily) and their husbands flew out from Kansas, making a pit stop in North Carolina to pick up my mom, so we could all be together to support Tom and Lisa. My dad drove up from North Carolina as soon as he could.
My sisters flew back to Kansas on Wednesday (or was it Thursday? Truly the days are a blur!). My mom and dad stayed in Connecticut to work on some loose ends here and to get things ready for the move to North Carolina, as they had finally found a house and signed a contract. On Friday mom called to tell me that Sarah and Brandon were flying back to Connecticut, with their children, to spend Easter with us!
So Easter became a time of food and visiting for three days. Sarah's two older girls and Tom's oldest daughter, were able to spend Saturday night sleeping over our house. It was fun to see all the cousins enjoying each other. We are all looking forward to when they spend a week (or longer) with us in the summer.
In the midst of all that chaos, my goat, Kay, decided to kidd. We let Sarah's oldest name him, as she was rather put out that she didn't get to witness the actual birth. She chose the name Radium and we'll call him Ray. He looks to be a keeper.
Everyone has now gone home to their respective states so maybe now we can settle back into some semblance of normal... or not.
